I remember a time when I was a teenager and each evening would go to the playground to play with the neighborhood kids. At the playground one would find children of all ages playing one or the other game – badminton, cricket or just a game of hide-and-seek. On one such evening we saw a young child wailing loudly as he had lost his new ball. We all tried to pacify him but he was afraid that he would be scolded at home.
What was the item and how did you find it ?
We all looked for the ball but could not find it. As dusk descended we all collected our play things and started to walk towards home. On most evenings I took the short route to home through the little secluded grove. As I meandered my way through the shrubs and thickets, I suddenly spotted a shiny red object. On examining closely I saw it was a ball. I was certain this was the ball the little boy was frantically looking for.
What happened later?
I picked it up and went home. Next day in the evening I went up to the little boy and handed him the red shiny ball. The little boy looked up to me disbelievingly and gave me a tight hug. It was a delight to see the child playing with his ball happily all through the evening.

Once I was traveling to my workplace using public transport and While sitting in the metro train, I just observed a file lying next to my seat. At first, I just ignored it and kept enjoying my music, just then, at the next station, an old lady wanted the seat and requested me to pick up the file thinking it was mine.
When and where do you find it?
Regarding her age, I just picked up the file and realized that the file had all the educational documents of a student probably graduating from a university. As these documents are very important in a person’s life I thought it to be my moral duty on humanitarian grounds to send the documents to the owner.
What did you do after finding it?
I could easily trace the address of the candidate as the file also had one of the identity proofs xerox copy in the file. I just called him up and introduced myself, mentioned the file I found and requested him to collect it from me at the next metro station.
How you felt about the experience.
As soon as the boy heard that I had his file, he felt so relaxed and started thanking me, in fact just started blessing me that I could get all that I desire. I felt so nice, the gratitude he was giving me was giving me such awesome feelings and made me feel that humanity still exists. It is inside us and we should all be empathetic towards each other in the society.

I travel a lot through public transport whether it is metros or cabs. Once I was going to meet my friends after a long time and I took a cab. As I was traveling, I suddenly realized that there was something under my bag that I kept on the seat. To my surprise there was a wallet under that and I told the cab driver about it.
When and where did you find it?
But, as I had found it I thought it was my moral duty to return it to the person whom it belonged to. I found it in the cab and I asked the cab driver to somehow retrieve the phone number of the person who booked the cab before me. But then I realized that it could be anyone who traveled in this cab who forgot it.
What did you do after finding it?
I just opened the wallet and there was a driving license in it and the address of the person was mentioned on that. There was some cash too. I asked the driver if he picked up someone from the address mentioned on the license. He told me that he picked up a man from that address in the morning, which was approximately 4 hours back. Thankfully it was near to where I was heading to meet my friends, just 15-20 minutes away.
How you felt about the experience.
I thought that I found it, so it was my responsibility to return it. I went to the same address and rang the doorbell. A lady came out, and I told her how I found it. She thanked me and then I went to meet my friends. Though I reached half an hour late, I had the satisfaction that I helped someone and I felt happy about it.
