Some people think that the government is wasting money on the arts

To What Extent do you agree with this view?

Nowadays, the Government is spending a considerable amount of money on art pieces. Some people are of the view that this money can be utilized in a much more efficient way. In my perspective, the Government should spend money on art, but in such a way that it is utilized in an optimum manner without compromising on other arenas/ fields.

India is a country that is known for its culture, history and art. People from all over the world travel to India with an intention to explore the spectacular art pieces made by Indian artists. Keeping in mind the popularity and respect that is associated with Indian art is commendable.

This is the fundamental reason behind the initiative of the Government to spend more money on these art pieces. It ensure that India is recognized in the global cultural market.

For instance, these pieces are sold by the Government through auctions and bids. That will ultimately helps to enhance the economy of the country.

Everything is okay if done under a limit, a famous quote that feels appropriate for this situation. In my opinion, spending money on art is justified only if the Government is able to create a balance of convenience.

Spending money to uplift the art and artist is a great step by the Government. But consideration needs to be given to the present requirement of the country. For example, post COVID- 19 outbreak, money should be spent on the health care sector extensively. It is to enhance the technologies and upgrade the present health infrastructure.

Currently, investment in art is not the primary concern of our nation and the Government needs to act rationally. To conclude, it can be pointed out that I do agree with the statement of spending money on art. But that needs to be done in such a manner that the remaining sectors, that are in need of investment are not compromised.
