When it was?

Staying busy is always being more focused and concentrated towards whatever you are doing. Last year I was promoted to a senior role in my organization and I was responsible to handle a team of 20 people under me and these 20 people were responsible for handling 500 online students under each of them, hence it was like I was solely responsible for the results and well being of 10,000 students studying an online course.

What you did during this period?

As a team lead, I was suppose to check the work done by the team under me and also to see that they achieve the targets of getting excellent student testimonials and generating referrals from the existing students.

What made you busy?

The set target, if achieved, would help the organization achieve higher revenue and earn more profits. So, it was an essential part to maintain proper documents and see that each individual in the team is working with diligence and loyalty. I had to update the software, maintain proper record on google sheets and become a pro in handling all these documents.

And explain how you felt about this experience?

This was an amazing experience all together as I learnt many managerial skills like team building, managing people with varied cultures in an online setting, enhanced my technical skills, and gave me immense respect from all sides. It made a well versed in my communication skills, decision making and balancing both work and personal life.

Who this person is & where you had the conversation?

We have daily conversations with different people on various topics. We remember certain conversations, as they leave an impact on us. I remember one such conversation with my grandmother that I had regarding money management. We had this conversation during lockdown when we were having dinner.

What you talked about?

The conversation started from how everything was on a hault during lockdown, and money had to be used wisely. My grandmother told me how important it is to save from what we have. Saving should be a habit whether the amount is small or big, one should develop a habit of saving as you never know when the need arrives. Life is a roller coaster and we do not know when it takes a turn. When we save, in the need of hour, we can optimally utilise it.

And explain how you felt about the experience.

The experience was an eye opener for me, as I realised that if I develop the habit of saving while I am young, it will prove to be helpful once I grow up. It is for our own good if we have ample amount of savings at our end to be used at the right time or when the need arrives.
