Who is this person?

Today, I would like to talk about an opinion that I gave to my niece when she passed the secondary board with a higher grade. She wanted to choose her career path, and is very intelligent in physics. So, I asked her which field she liked the most. And she said that she was interested in technology. And then, after I gave her some suggestions about computer science or mechanical engineering, she chose computer science because she is very interested in it.

How did you know him/her & explain how you feel about him/her.

And, these days, artificial intelligence, like technology, is growing day by day. Well in the future, demand for artificial intelligence will grow more than it does right now. So, she chose Computer science which is her field. I feel very great because I gave her the right advice, and this is right for her because, in the future, she will earn more in this field. Every time I give someone advice, I feel a sense of responsibility.

Who was the person ?

Recently my niece, who has just completed her college degree was in town. She has always been frank and often discusses her problems with me. This time she seemed perplexed about her higher studies.

What problems was he/she facing ?

She had just completed her degree course in sociology and was confused about the career path she should take. After completing sociology one can opt for several careers. One can opt for masters in social work, corporate law or pursue sociology and become a lecturer or a professor. One can also go into demographic studies or any such related field. The choices are endless.

What was your advice/opinion ?

She was more inclined to take up social work and asked my opinion regarding the same. I advised her instead to opt for masters in sociology. For one, she has always performed well in her academics. Also, she is more of a bookworm and enjoys reading all kinds of books. Moreover, she has been teaching younger children since her high school and they have all scored well under her tutelage. Therefore, I felt she would be much more comfortable in an academic environment and later can choose to teach at a reputed college.

She weighed the pros and cons and pondered over it for a considerable period of time, and then decided to take my advice and has enrolled for masters in sociology.
