What the event was?

It was the 25th wedding anniversary of my aunt and we all wanted to throw a gala party for friends and family. My aunt has always been a shy and reserved person and kept mostly to herself. So till the very last moment we had to keep it under wraps.

How did you prepare for it?

At first, we cousins got together, and chalked out every detail, and each was assigned a particular task. My job was to inform all the members of the family living in other cities well in advance and arrange the accommodation.

Who helped you to organize it?

Each of us did our best to make the event a happy one. My other cousins managed the catering and decoration of the venue. While others managed the invitation cards that were to be sent, photographer and videographer, as well as other miscellaneous details.

And explain why you think it was a successful event.

On the day of the event, my aunt was happily surprised, despite her reservations. Everything went smoothly and my aunt and uncle were overjoyed to see so many of the relatives living in other cities at the event. The food was excellent and all the guests relished the delicacies. We all partied till late into the night, and I was definitely satisfied as I could make everybody comfortable.

What the event was?

I did not organise any event myself, but was in the 10-member council of an event for architectural students that organised the NASA short for National Architectural Students Association at a zonal level, which we were very proud of as we were the first batch of our college and were selected to host.

How you prepared for it?

We made various temporary changes to the department and the hostels themselves, as we had to host 500 students by arranging for beds, food, and architectural events.

Who helped you to organize it?

I was a part of a 10-member council, and all 10 members were involved from the ground level to the upper management level, from food to event planning or security itself was planned by our department with the help of our university expert.

And explain why you think it was a successful event.

The event itself was a great success, as students praised us for the overall management of the event. The event was a closed event on a common university campus which required a mutual understanding between students of other departments, University staff, management and our department

What the event was, how you prepared for it, and who helped you to organize it?

It might seem silly, but my entire family (and even my friend circle) is filled with people who love celebrating their birthday. We all get pretty ecstatic as soon as our birthdays are around the corner. There was one birthday celebration of my younger sister that I had planned that will always remain a core memory for me because of how memorable it was. It was my sister’s 16th birthday – the sweet 16 – and it was the first time she wanted to invite her classmates from school to join in on the celebrations. So, with the help of my mum, I decided to organize a theme party for them. We prepared 16 food items, from snacks to sweets, and planned a few exciting games as well. What was supposed to be a 3-hour party, turned into a 6-hour fun celebration of girls making the most of their teen spirit together.

And explain why you think it was a successful event.

Seeing all those girls be so cheerful and enjoying like there was no tomorrow was one of the best things to be a witness to. It made me miss my days as a teenager and I instantly became a teenager along with them, forgetting my inhibitions and just enjoying our time playing games and eating amazing food. Each and every girl left our home with lots of joy and love. Till date my sister considers that birthday to be her best celebration, and I completely agree.

Describe a time you used your Cellphone/Smartphone to do something important

What happened and when it happened?

Nowadays almost everyone is glued to their smartphones, making it seem like an extension of our bodies. I used to detest this about everyone around me and even considered becoming old-school and switching back to a smaller cell phone with just the calling feature. However, in March 2024, I got a reality check and realized how important a smartphone can be. I was out with my friends when a client from work called me up for an extremely urgent work. Even after multiple attempts to explain to them how I couldn’t possibly do it as I was out of my house, they were insistent due to the emergency they were facing.

How important the cellphone/smartphone was

It was my smartphone that ultimately saved their day and mine surely. I quickly downloaded an application on my phone after searching for the best video editor. I edited a video for my client and then quickly sent it across. That day my smartphone helped me gain some internal appreciation as well from my work team.

And explain how you felt about the experience

This all led me to realize that if I had shifted to a cell phone, my boss would have thought that I wasn’t capable of handling emergencies and my client would have also lost out on presenting well for their company executives. Since then, I’ve become a bit more grateful for this technology.
