What was the discussion about?

My friend and I both love books and movies and often many of our discussions veer into these areas. Once during one of our long chats, my friend started talking about a particular book on Christianity.

Why do you think the discussion was interesting?

My friend who is far more knowledgeable than me narrated how Christianity spread all over the World. She talked at length on the subject and I learnt a lot more about this topic. She has in-depth knowledge about Christianity as she has read extensively about it. Since we had ample time, we had a long discussion on its spread and popularity. While I agreed on most of the facts, some I was not so sure, so we also debated on it.

And how you felt about it.

It was a wonderful discussion and we both exchanged our views on the subject. I was not aware about many aspects of this religion, so the discussion definitely helped to enhance my knowledge. We also discussed the books that are available on Christianity and other resources one can access to know more about the religion and how it spread across the world.

What the discussion was about?

Discussions are an important part of life. By discussing things with other people, one can find multiple ways of doing things. I am a person who likes to discuss important matters with my near and dear ones. I was travelling with my friend sometime back and we had an important discussion about different brands of televisions as he wanted to buy one.

What opinions you and your friend had?

We talked about LG, SONY, SAMSUNG and a few more brands. I was of the opinion that one should buy tried and tested electronic devices and these companies have a known reputation since ages. My friend, Ali, was of the opinion that new brands like Mi, or some other local brands have also launched their electronics and are trending in the market, so one should go with the trend.

Why do you think the discussion was interesting?

The discussion was very knowledgeable for me as I got to know about so many other brands apart from what I knew were there in the market. The electronics industry had expanded to a great extent leaving the buyers confused about where to buy from.

And how you felt about it

I felt a bit puzzled at the end as so many brands had come up, but Ali was clear in his head that he would first visit and compare the local brands with the well known brands in terms of their features as per the price at which they were being offered.

What the discussion was about?

My friend, Prashant, is probably one of the only people I’ve met in my life whom I feel is my clone who just belongs to the opposite sex. We are the same in almost everything. Our opinions usually align almost as perfectly as two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. However, recently, we were discussing a film, and for the first time, we had completely different views.

What opinions you and your friend had?

It was a film called Hum Tum, a film from the Hindi film industry in India. It is a romantic-comedy and we were just discussing how some scenes that we loved as kids are now scenes we absolutely detest. However, in one particular scene, the characters in the film argue over a fact that the male protagonist in the film chose to hide from the female protagonist in order to protect her feelings. While I opined that that’s not the right thing to do, Prashant insisted that sometimes the care we have for our loved ones prevails over what right or wrong is.

Why do you think the discussion was interesting and how you felt about it?

We discussed this at length and it was quite interesting to see how our personal experiences in life shaped these opinions for us. Ultimately, we also realized that we both do not uphold our own beliefs and are in fact just hypocrites. I felt quite happy after this discussion because it showed me that we’re capable of having healthy conversations when we have differing opinions, without being condescending. I value our friendship a lot more since this discussion.

Describe a time you used your Cellphone/Smartphone to do something important

You should say:

- What happened

- When it happened

- How important the cellphone/smartphone was

- And explain how you felt about the experience

What happened and when it happened?

Nowadays almost everyone is glued to their smartphones, making it seem like an extension of our bodies. I used to detest this about everyone around me and even considered becoming old-school and switching back to a smaller cell phone with just the calling feature. However, in March 2024, I got a reality check and realized how important a smartphone can be. I was out with my friends when a client from work called me up for an extremely urgent work. Even after multiple attempts to explain to them how I couldn’t possibly do it as I was out of my house, they were insistent due to the emergency they were facing.

How important the cellphone/smartphone was

It was my smartphone that ultimately saved their day and mine surely. I quickly downloaded an application on my phone after searching for the best video editor. I edited a video for my client and then quickly sent it across. That day my smartphone helped me gain some internal appreciation as well from my work team.

And explain how you felt about the experience

This all led me to realize that if I had shifted to a cell phone, my boss would have thought that I wasn’t capable of handling emergencies and my client would have also lost out on presenting well for their company executives. Since then, I’ve become a bit more grateful for this technology.
