Cities are the nucleus of a country’s growth and development. People from distinct geographical landscapes aspire to move on to cities in search of a better future, livelihood, and civic amenities. The lavish city life offers you almost every service possible within a few kilometers of your house, from the world-class schools and hospitals, to Multinational Corporations. However, not every glittering object is gold.

Cities, even after accommodating people from different social backgrounds, lack social-integration. For instance, one might not know his/ her neighbor even after a few months of moving to the city. The cities are overcrowded, resulting in exorbitant property prices. People face tremendous hardships to find an affordable place to live with their families; as a result, they prefer to live alone. It might be shocking to reveal that cities are a reason for numerous diseases, such as loneliness, asthma, heart diseases, et cetera. The ‘soothing’ air of the cities hides its worst and darkest face- air pollution, which according to statistics reduces a person’s life by 12 years.

The Government can take sweeping measures in order to overcome this problem. The Government can put restrictions on industrial units, and ban the use of fire-crackers for celebrations. It can promote religious festivals and other social gatherings for nourishing social understanding. It can also implement laws for regulating housing prices, which will give a house to many families in need.

Recapping, cities harbor different people, it also gives some water to different problems, which at the end become uncontrollable and life-taking. The massive problems in which cities are engulfed can be solved with adequate Government attention.

With rapid growth in industries and expansion of cities, multitudes of people are migrating to cities in search of jobs and an improved lifestyle. However, city life can be difficult in multiple ways including cost of living. Governments can do a lot in this respect to ease the lives of individuals.

Over the past few years, a vast majority of people are shifting base to bigger cities from rural areas or small towns in search of better job prospects and lifestyle. While city life can be rewarding in many ways however, it has several pitfalls as well. Life in cities is expensive, and more often than not, many who migrate to cities with a lot of dreams suffer miserably. For one, housing costs are extremely high, similarly food and other basic amenities are also costly. This creates a tremendous pressure on monthly budgets, especially in case of both the middle and the lower class, thus reducing them to a hand-to-mouth situation. Additionally, people have to travel long distances to reach their work place leaving them with very little time for family and other recreational activities.

While it is impossible to curb the continuous influx of population, governments can do much to ease the lives of citizens. Governments of the day should plan cities keeping in mind future projections. In this respect, solving the housing issue stands foremost. To address this problem, it is imperative that governments come up with cheap and economical housing to make life easy especially for the middle and the lower strata of society. Also, governments should roll out adequate plans to control markets so that prices of food and other basic amenities are under control. Medical facilities is another area of concern as with rising population, curbing outbreak of diseases is a huge challenge. The health departments of the government will need to be more vigilant and carry out regular immunization drives to keep diseases at bay. This would ensure a healthy and disease-free society. Additionally, town planning agencies of the government need to structure cities keeping in mind the challenge of accommodating the ever growing population.

To conclude, in the present scenario, the rapid expansion of cities is unavoidable therefore, governments would need to plan strategically to harmonize the regular influx of population.

In the current scenario, many individuals are moving from rural to urban areas to lead a standardized life. However, living in urbanized colonies has been challenging in many aspects. This essay will highlight the issues associated with the aspect along with its remedies.

To commence with, as the big cities are getting crowded with migrants from smaller towns, the cost of living in such areas has increased many folds. Due to less space, people tend to pay higher rent for accommodation or live in suburban areas where they have to make extra effort to reach their workplace giving rise to the next problem of over-crowding the public transportation and roads. For example, in metropolitan cities, people earning high salaries are residing in smaller areas and traveling for around four to five hours daily just to earn a high income and be in a position to live a comfortable life, the same was also published in the News-Times as they had surveyed savings and expenditure of the local people.

However, the issue of higher rent can be resolved if the government of that city confines to a fixed law of standardized rent. Under this rule, the property owners should not be allowed to charge extra rent or even increase the rent of the property without legal permission. Secondly, the authorities are required to initiate building better public transportation so that people feel comfortable using them and tend to avoid the use of personal vehicles. For example, in developed countries like Australia and Canada, authorities have fixed laws on rental properties, and also the way public transport is used and developed regularly, the same encourages the citizens to benefit from it.

To conclude, the growing population in big cities has brought in many monetary and environmental challenges, however, if the administrative authorities intervene and make proper rules and regulations, people will be able to balance expenditures and live a better lifestyle.

More citizens are shifting to urban areas to lead a standardised life but this can be challenging. Aso, citizens get attached to their friends or family and often face difficulties when residing in cities so administrative authorities can take some measures to improve urban life for everyone.

To commence with, the lucrative city life comes with many challenges that masses face such as the amount of pollution is very high in metropolitan cities which affects  the kids and old aged people to face health issues like Asthma in which they are not able to breathe properly. For example: a new born baby was tested and the research showed that the baby had a lot of toxins in his lungs which was very shocking because he was just 10 days old, this shows the pollution level in urban areas. In addition, the price of everything in urban area is very expensive compared to rural areas so citizens are not able to afford a healthy lifestyle and find it difficult to survive in city for example a survey shows that masses are moving back to rural areas because people are not able to provide their family with lavish lifestyle they lived in the past.

However with the support of government many obstacles will be resolved like government can take measures and form new policies in favor of masses who are below poverty line so that they can have the lavish lifestyle which they used to have in rural area and can live happily in cities for example PM Narendra Modi launched a policy Pradhan mantri Garib awas Yojana in which government provides a permanent house to people who can’t afford a house.

To conclude although there are many difficulties surrounding the initial phase of a city life the support of government can help people to survive with happiness and prosperity.
