From the past many years, ways of connecting with others have changed since the advancement of technology, especially when softwares offering video and audio calls came into effect. This growth has not only changed the way people connect, but has also left long lasting effects on their lives. It has positive effects but certain negative impacts have also been seen.
Since the beginning of covid-19 pandemic, people were left with no option other than taking advantage of technology for their personal and professional use. Humans started gathering on social media platforms to connect with their family members, colleagues and parents due to a spike in illnesses across the globe and a handful of restrictions imposed by authorities. A typical example would be WhatsApp which offers collaborating with those in immediate circle and outside ones easily. Moreover, as competition is rising among every sector, it is getting highly difficult for people to manage and spare time to connect with others, which often plays a key role in diverting humans towards technology.
Although the internet has helped human well-being in fostering bonds with others, it has also left detrimental side effects on relationships. There are multifarious reasons to support the cons. Firstly, a few years ago, individuals met everyone physically which helped them to learn about others, and leverage their skills by adding more learned from them after their social meetings. Secondly, going for parties, or having a cup of coffee after lengthy meetings and exams has completely lost its significance over the time due to social media, and human tendency to stick to their mobile phone and tablets every time has led to mental illnesses and a sedentary lifestyle. For instance, a report published by CIBC shows that 100 million natives all over the world suffered from depression after covid-19.
Ultimately, the perspective of interacting has completely changed within a few years either due to social media or latest softwares in the market. Although if used responsibly, it would present ample adverts, but it has presented more mental instability in people after a pandemic.

With the advent of technology, the way people communicate among themselves has undergone a sea change. Technology has also influenced in multiple ways the kind of relationships people make. While this has proved to be largely beneficial but certain negative impact is also evident.
In earlier times, people were mostly exposed to a certain group of people and friendships were restricted to the immediate circle. With technological advancements people are now no longer restricted to only a handful of people and can now develop friendships with people from all over the world. In recent times, even relationships are formed online which in many cases, results in marriage. Society is no longer limited or dependent on their communities to seek suitable alliances that culminates in marriage. Professional relationships too have seen a transformation with many businesses closing deals with counterparts from other nations whom they have never met before.
With the world now fast becoming a highly networked global village, boundaries have ceased to exist among nations and people in general. People from all walks of life with varied ethnicity can look forward to friendships beyond their close circle. However, a vast majority are now in the habit of texting to keep in touch with their loved ones. They no longer make efforts to physically meet or call their ones. This has resulted in loneliness and depression among a sizable chunk of the population, especially the older generation. Additionally, a vast majority has been duped online resulting in huge monetary loss and emotional trauma. Both in personal and professional space, many are now wary of formulating friendships or relationships online unless they are sure of the other’s credentials, thereby resulting in an insecure environment.
To conclude, it is evident that due to technology, relationships have undergone a transformation which has proved to be beneficial in several ways; however, in certain areas it has negatively impacted society creating an unsure environment.
