Last month my elder sister celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary. To mark this momentous occasion I hosted a party for relatives and close friends. I wanted a cozy party and nothing too loud. Therefore I chose a venue which had a small open green area and was not too huge as I had only fifty guests.
What was the occasion ?
I designed the venue keeping in mind the colour of the outfits my sister and her husband were going to wear. Since their attires were of darker shades I chose a white, peach and cream theme. I instructed the decorators to get flowers of pastel shades and put up a little gazebo in the centre using white sheer cloth. Also, I did not want to serve the usual Indian dishes and instead opted for a mixed Mexican and Continental menu.
Was the event a success ?
The event was a grand success and my sister and her husband were elated by the arrangements. Also, the relatives and friends who attended the event appreciated my efforts. The pictures from the event were all fabulous. I was quite satisfied with the arrangements and had a good time organising it.

It is always important to make people feel special. People who play an important part in your life should be made to feel special on their occasion. It was my elder sister’s wedding ceremony. It was a four day event that took place at various places. From day one to day four , we had so much work and preparations for the ceremonies to be hosted.
What was the occasion ?
Some ceremonies took place at our home in Delhi. Those were old rituals that were important to perform. We had nights filled with women singing old folk songs that they used to sing during wedding rituals. Other ceremonies took place at the resort where only close family members were available.
Was the event a success ?
It was important because it was my beloved sister who was getting married. She was the first in the family to get married. We were all very excited and overwhelmed. So much has changed after her marriage. I, as a second child, have taken on so many responsibilities after her marriage.
People at her wedding enjoyed it a lot. We had huge celebrations every other day and night. We had managed everything so nicely and perfectly. Moments were captured through photographs. People called us later to appreciate how much fun they had. It was a joyful time.
