Describe an article on health you read in a magazine or on the internet | IELTS Speaking Test 25th December 2025

My neighbourhood is a very busy place since I live in a commercial area with many small shops and a huge street vegetable market.

I honestly do not think it is great for families, especially those with young kids, because there is a lot of pollution and noise in the area and there are no parks for children to play in either.

I would definitely want some parks in our vicinity for children to play in as well as for adults to walk or meditate at.

There have not been any recent changes in my neighbourhood. The last development that took place was the construction of a small temple a year ago.

Not really. I’d prefer to live in a quieter area with more greenery.

I am cordial with my neighbours and we exchange pleasantries whenever we cross paths but I don’t know much about them on a personal level.

Not often at all. I see them hardly once a month because we all are out of our homes in the morning and get back from our respective lives at different hours in the evening. So we hardly ever meet each other.

Yes, I like my neighbours even though I don’t know them much. That’s because they aren’t nosy at all and are always friendly.

Yes. In India there has always been a rich culture of treating neighbours like family. Though these days this has reduced because people are mostly engaged in their work and consumed by their work life.

Most people experience issues like non-cooperation in things like loud noise, garbage disposals or parking adjustments.

You Should Say:

What it was

Where you read it

Why you read it

And how you felt about it

I had recently visited my dentist a week ago to get my usual oral checkup done. While sitting in the waiting area, I just browsed through the pamphlets and magazines kept there to pass the time as I waited. In one of those magazines I came across an article related to unknown facts about oral hygiene. While most of the facts that I read were known to me, I was surprised to know that one should never brush their teeth right after vomiting because stomach acid can erode the enamel and brushing leads to further erosion. I was so shocked knowing that because I used to think brushing is the first thing that should be done after throwing up and I had always done it too. After that I decided to ask the doctor about this as well and got further advice from her as well. I was ultimately glad that I decided to pick up that magazine and flip through it because it helped me get my facts right.

No. I think people are much more unhealthy now because almost every lifestyle disease that occurred in people post the age of 50 or 60 are now starting to show at as early as 25 years of age in people. This just reflects how unhealthy all our lifestyles have become.

What activities can schools organize for children to keep fit?

Schools can ensure physical education is given importance and regular physical activities are included in the academic schedules like a few hours every week dedicated to indulging in some sport. Organizing fun and healthy activities in school camps can also make children feel motivated towards being fit.

Governments can organize awareness campaigns on the easy ways to stay healthy in today’s hectic world and allocate funds for the development of open and free public gyms so that everyone can access them without feeling a financial burden. Additionally, certain essential supplements should also be made available at lower prices at government pharmacies for people of all economic backgrounds to be able to afford them.
