Knowing how to play an instrument gives one a sense of accomplishment. Since school I have always wanted to learn to play the piano.
Pianos are of two kinds – the grand piano which is used in concerts, and the other, box-type upright piano. Most modern pianos have a row of 88 black keys and 52 white keys.
What it sounds like?
The piano is a keyboard instrument that produces sound when pressed on the keys.
Very few people are aware that a piano comes under the category of string instruments. This is because the sound produced is a result of vibrating strings. It is also called a percussion instrument as a hammer strikes the vibrating strings.
What kinds of people it is popular with?
Pianos are popular with most musicians as it is used as a base instrument to create music pieces. One can find individual pianists like concert artists or musicians who are part of a band or orchestra.
In earlier times, most of the elite class had one at home as sources of entertainment were far less in comparison to modern times.

I hope to some day master the art of playing the piano. The sound of piano appeals to my senses and I enjoy listening to popular pieces of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. While it may not be possible to play such classical pieces but I hope to at least manage to play some simple tunes.
