While shopping, most people have the habit of bargaining. While some are good at it, others hesitate to do so and end up paying more thus missing out on a good bargain. Although I too am good at bargaining, I am no competition to my nephew. He is a soft spoken young man but has amazing ability to convince shopkeepers and always manages to get the goods at a reasonable price.
How do you feel about them?
Getting a good bargain is time consuming and requires a lot of patience. Whenever my nephew goes shopping he keeps buffer time so that he does not have to hurry through the process. He patiently hears them out before quoting his price. Often he collects data from other online sites to quote a reasonable price and manages to convince the shopkeeper to sell the goods at that price.
I simply admire his bargaining skills and patience while shopping.
Do you go shopping with them often?
I often ask him to accompany me in my shopping sprees as he also has a good knowledge about the markets in the
city and knows exactly where certain goods are available. He is a favourite of all our family members as he is a designer himself and understands clothes, cuts, colour and designs. Within a budget he can get clothes, alter it and make somebody look like a million bucks.

I have a friend who has a mission in life to never pay full price for anything he purchases. Ever since I first got to know her, I have never once seen her not bargain. She has used every trick that could ever be conceived by people to get a discount, even if it’s just a one percent decrease, she will get it no matter what.
How do you feel about them?
I am always amazed by her skills in convincing her to lower the prices no matter what. I do respect her and aspire to learn all I can from her, no matter what.

There would be no point in being friends with a person like this if you did not use their skills in the market. I try to make my shopping trips on her schedule so that she can accompany me. She loves to bargain so she doesn’t mind when the entire friend group uses their skills to save some cash.

Well, I know many people who are good at buying things by asking any helper to lower the price. The person I know personally is my sister. She is so confident to ask anyone to lower the prices whenever she goes shopping.

To be honest, she first talks to the service person so nicely and she just asks ‘why is this thing so expensive? It should not be this expensive. Can you please lower the price?’ I think the way she asks makes someone forced to lower the price.
How do you feel about them?
Sometimes, it is funny and I personally tried to stop her many times when I used to go shopping with her. According to me, it is not always good to lower the price because there are many things in the market that have fixed prices.
Do you go shopping with them often?
I do not shop with her because right now, she lives in India. And, since the last two years, I have not met her. But I am excited to go to India and do shopping with her as I sometimes miss those days. And I also want to see if she is still the same in her shopping habits.
