I remember a trip I had through Delhi to Amritsar in a public bus, it was one of the most amazing road trips I had in my life. I was going there to attend a family function.
Were you with someone?
I went on the trip with my mother and had a lot of fun. We had not taken a trip in a long time and we both were extremely tired. This was a really relaxing time for both of us, this helped us bond a bit more as we didn’t get enough time to talk because of our busy schedules.
Why did you take the trip?
The trip was made to attend a family function but we also had some work that had to be completed in the city, so it did have multiple purposes but the main reason was to reconvene with family once again after a really long time.
How did you feel after the trip?
I felt absolutely awesome after the time, as it just took away the entire stress I had in my mind, I made such long cherishing memories with my cousins and the best thing that I will never forget is the visit to the old street market of the city, it always touches my heart and I feel as though the land calls me to be there again.

Introduction
In everyday life most people use public transport to either commute to work or to attend school, college or for any other personal business. Most of us forget that these buses, trams or metros can also be a convenient way to get a peek into the different corners of the city.
Mode of transport ?
Last summer me and my friends were in Rome, which has an ancient rich culture spanning several centuries. The city is dotted with buildings and monuments which are an architectural delight and tourists often take guided tours to explore such spots. However, taking guided tours is time consuming and often you have to walk miles to cover the popular spots mentioned in the itinerary. To avoid walking for long hours, I looked for public buses which would cover the route where these amazing monuments and palaces were located. I found one such bus which covered the city in three hours before culminating at the main terminus. This seemed to be an ideal option to explore the city.
Why was it enjoyable?
We took bus no. 711 from right outside the hotel. It took us across the city covering all the prominent spots along the way. We were able to get a good view of these grand structures from the comfort of the air-conditioned bus and had an amazing time. What more, most of the bus stops were near the prominent sites which gave us enough time to admire the delightful structures. At one or two places we deboarded the bus as we wanted to walk around some of the more renowned historical sites. This was a smart decision as every few minutes the next bus would arrive and we did not have to waste any time. The fare was also economical and much less than the tourist buses provided by the government and the private tour operators.

Last year, I traveled to my aunt’s house who lives in Chandigarh using the public bus called volvo. It was the second time I was traveling in a Volvo bus.
Were you with someone?
I was with my brother as we were going there to meet our cousins during our holidays. We wanted to visit them for a long time, but due to our busy schedules, we were not able to do so. As soon as our vacations started, we headed to their home in Chandigarh.
Why did you take the trip?
It was a great time to reunite with our cousins and stroll the markets of Chandigarh, being our vacations. The trip was for 3 days and it was a leisure trip. We wanted to relax and spend some quality time with our cousins.
How did you feel after the trip?
It was a nice experience as the volvo bus was comfortable and the fare was also fine. The seats were well cushioned and the journey took us about 6-7 hours. The bust stopped twice in between for the passengers to get fresh and have some refreshments. All in all, it was a good change from the humdrum of life as we had plans for the next three days lined up with our near and dear ones. The excitement was at its peak as it is for everyone going on a vacation.
