Many of the countries are purely living off on tourism activities like Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, Bhutan and many more. The developing countries expanding their tourist industries will result in increasing the economy and employment generation. This is a positive development
As tourism has always been an integral part of boosting one’s economy over the past many decades, this initiative by the Government of different countries is gaining popularity amongst the travelers to visit their country which is resulting in positive development. Tourism is not just related with exploring the destination but also is a great way to expand multiple industries like food, electronics, clothes, music, leisure activities and adventure sports.
Recently many countries allow visa free on arrival for a limited period of time. This is another positive way to welcome the maximum number of tourists across the globe automatically resulting in adding to their economy. Countries like Maldives, Mauritius do this to promote tourism in their country.
Countries allow film shootings in their country which is again good for the tourism industry of the respective country. Countries like Turkey and Dubai were leading the tourism for all the good reasons for a very long time but recently many developing countries like Uzbekistan, Morocco and Azerbaijan have gained popularity mainly because of Hollywood and Bollywood film shootings which surprisingly resulted into boosting tourism in their country and gave an opportunity to expand their real potential of raw materials of goods like clothes, ceramics, and leather.
To recapitulate, I would like to say not just the currently developing countries but globally all the countries must take the initiative of expanding their tourist industries to boost the economy and employment generation in various sectors.

Many developing countries are currently expanding their tourist industries.
Why is this the case? Is it a positive or negative development?
You should write at least 250 words.
With a burgeoning world, majority of the developing countries are trying to boost tourism to attract foreign tourists to visit their country. This can be seen as a positive development as this paves the way for greater interaction among nations resulting in cultural exchange and improvements in trade and commerce.
In the past few decades, the tourism industry has grown manifold and in this modern era more people are travelling than ever before. A vast majority of travellers are always on the lookout for exotic places. Developing nations low on foreign currency reserve see this as a golden opportunity to earn foreign exchange by boosting the tourist industry. This also offers the opportunity to engage with more developed nations making technological and cultural exchange possible. Trade and commerce too increases thus further boosting the economy.
A boom in the tourist industry in developing nations can only be seen as positive development. When tourists flock to a particular nation, other sectors too develop. For instance, hotels of multiple price range are now available in most busy sectors. Additionally, traditional items, ancient art, pottery, textiles find a market. The hospitality industry including food and beverages outlets too find a bigger market.
Therefore, it may be concluded that boosting the tourist industry especially in developing nations can be seen as a positive development as it helps to not only boost the economy but provides a fertile ground for engagement with other nations.

Some people believe the government should spend money on building train and subway lines to reduce traffic congestion
Others think that building more and wider roads is the better way to reduce traffic congestion. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
You should write at least 250 words.
Many are of the opinion that government should focus on developing trains and subways, others think that roads should be widened to reduce traffic congestion. In my opinion, more than one approach is required to tackle problems related to traffic.
To commence with, public transportation like trains and subways should be built on priority basis as population is increasing in urban centres. Developing such facilities would help to ease traffic making daily commute easier. Furthermore, to take off vehicular congestion from roads it is important to develop alternate modes of public transport.
It may also be noted that most cities, suburbs and far flung areas are connected through roads. Therefore, roads need to be widened so that vehicles of all sizes can ply smoothly. Moreover, in this present era, more people own cars, scooters and bikes. Vehicular population on roads are now much higher than before. If roads are not widened it would lead to unprecedented traffic jams and commuting would be a nightmare.
In conclusion, while widening or building more roads can be one of the solutions however, other measures like introducing more number of trains or developing the subway would go a far way in easing traffic congestion.
