Describe a perfect job you would like to have in the future | IELTS Speaking 23rd April 2026

Yes, I think I’d be quite immobile without technology in my life since most of my work and majority of my daily life is dependent on the information I am able to gather from the internet.

Innumerous kinds, actually. For household chores, I rely on the vacuum cleaner for cleaning, the washing machine for my laundry, and an electric chopper for quicker cooking. My lights are also connected to the voice-activated controls, so I even turn on lights using technology, when I am in bed.

My smartphone is like an extension of my body because, as I mentioned earlier, I’d feel immobile without technology, and that is primarily due to my heavy reliance on my phone. So I definitely use my phone more than computers or laptops.

I use my work laptop everyday.

They are surely indirectly harmful for our health. While using them does not cause a direct injury or risk, prolonged use does impact vision and leads to migraines in many cases.

Yes, I like to believe I am quite tech-savvy so I am able to cope with most of the advancements that keep turning up everyday.

My smartphone. It has not just made life convenient in terms of making many things quickly accessible, but it has also made staying in touch with friends and family quite easy.

Yes, I use applications like Instagram every single day. Though I do not have an addiction in any way. I am able to control my usage.

You Should Say:

What is it?

How do you know about it?

What is it like?

And explain why you think it is perfect?

My dream job is to run an NGO for victims of abuse. In a country like India, there are abuse victims in almost every nook and cranny. I grew up seeing many women get tortured by their families, especially their husbands, physically, mentally and emotionally. I always wondered if the authorities were the only people that could help such victims because clearly they were of no help. It was around five years ago when I was scrolling through social media when I came across a documentary on NGOs in India, aiming to rehabilitate and provide therapy to victims of abuse. I watched that documentary and since then, it has been a goal of mine to open something similar in my life. I would need to first gain experience by working in such NGOs and understanding the psyche of victims, because this work would require a lot of empathy and mental strength to be able to provide fair and appropriate help to everyone. I think this would be perfect for me because I feel I am an empathetic person who hopes to make the world a better place. Having seen so many abuse victims, I think if I will be able to help as many people as I can, I would die content.

According to me, a job that provides a balance between the professional and personal aspects of life, along with fair compensation and career growth, is the perfect job because it would provide the most satisfaction to the person.

Apart from salary and interest in the job role, I think logistics also impact a person’s decision of taking a job. The commute time would influence their decision because longer commutes end up seeping into personal time and leave people with less time to indulge in activities apart from their work.

I don’t think it would be fair to compare occupations like that because I believe every work profile can be strenuous or a piece of cake; it is entirely dependent on the person’s abilities and interests. So, I would say that instead of occupational comparison, there should be fair compensation within every occupation.

This could be due to factors like lack of interest in the jobs they take up, unfair remuneration at work, or lack of interest in even doing a job at all. Though, I also feel that some people like changing their jobs to keep their skills and knowledge base updated.

I think this shift has already begun because majority companies have started allowing work from home to their employees, especially since COVID-19 showed the world that remote work was a definite possibility. So, I think in the future, everyone would want to switch to roles that provide the flexibility to work from anywhere as it could provide a better balance to them in life.

Technology has made food preparation quicker. The things that took hours take 15 to 20 minutes nowadays with mixers and pressure cookers speeding up the processes.
