Dear John,

Hello! How are you doing? I really enjoyed hanging out with you during your India trip last December. I wanted to share some personal news with you – I will be moving to Los Angeles from New Delhi this coming Fall!

I recently got accepted into the Masters in Data Informatics program at the University of Southern California, and wanted to understand the process of applying to part-time jobs at the university. I am mostly interested in research assistant positions because I will not only be able to earn money while studying but also build my resume for internships next summer.

If possible, could you please send me the emails of some of the professors you have worked with in the past year? This way, I can proactively reach out to them and try to get some interviews set-up even before my program starts. I would greatly appreciate it if you could also help me out by proof reading my resume and suggesting some edits.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Warm Regards,

Nikhit
