I am currently working as a graphic designer at a startup firm.
I mainly handle the social media graphics of the clients of my firm.
I have always been fond of creating graphics which are powerful enough to engage audiences and hook people to a brand’s presence. At my work, I am able to create such content now and feel proud of myself whenever any graphic gains traction on social media platforms.
Yes, I do. It isn’t due to my social skills though. It is because the startup is actually founded by my friend so the few employees here are all friends.
Yes, I think I would like to get out of the role of client media curation and get into the role of ideation instead, and maybe even making client pitches.

I think I am proud of my sister more than I am proud of myself and my achievements in life. She is quite younger than me and that is what mesmerizes me about her. I have seen her tackle the toughest of hurdles and curveballs like it was nothing, while I probably still struggle to cope with most things, even though I am an adult and she has just turned 19 last year. Recently, she did something that left me awestruck more than usual. She had taken ill for a long while and wasn’t able to bounce back easily. In such instances, most people would show themselves grace and take rest, as they should, but my sister decided to channel her creative energy instead. She began writing poetry a little more seriously than she normally does, and set her mind to getting it all published. She was on bed rest for over a month and every single day she penned her creativity, rigorously editing it all by the end of the month. She visited multiple publishers and after much effort, she finally found one and got her poems published. It was a huge moment of pride for all of us in the family and I look up to my sister whenever I feel down and demotivated. She inspires me everyday, and I’ll always talk about her with pride with everyone.
I think academic and professional achievements matter the most to people as they showcase one’s success in those phases of their life. Of course, financial success adds to the pride, but it can become quite negative sometimes.
I definitely believe personal achievements are the true markers of one’s success in life, but I am aware that that’s quite a utopian belief system. I feel professional successes and failures are quite momentary and bring in a practical advantage, but personal successes mold one’s life and attitudes. With good personal successes, people can stay focused to achieve professional goals, but the vice versa would not be true.
I don’t think pride is beneficial as a permanent feeling because it can make people quite high-headed, but as a momentary emotion, it can help people gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, and also stay motivated and determined towards their goals, personal and otherwise.
To an extent, yes. Pride plays a major role in the quality people see in their work and also deliver in their work. If people do not feel proud of what they do, they are easily discouraged from putting their best efforts towards their work.
It is quite crucial to be proud of being the citizens of a particular country because it showcases the pride one feels in their cultural identity. Besides that, if citizens aren’t proud of where they are from, it reflects the shortcomings of the country’s governance and social state.
