One of the places where everything is absolutely expensive is in Melbourne, in the country Australia. I came to know about this information from my cousin as she is a permanent resident of this place. The best thing about everything expensive here is people also earn the highest income here.
What is the place like?
Being expensive, the place is managed very nicely, and the entire city is pollution-free, with no hassle of any sort. People are very calm and life is completely disciplined and people follow all the rules diligently. The government of the country has laid a fine system of constitution and this fact makes the place really beautiful for all.
Why did you go there?
I went there because my son was admitted for his higher studies and my husband and I went to drop him there in the hostel. Life seemed full of pleasure and luxury.
What did you buy there?
I purchased some of the rare perfumes from this city. The fragrance is really amazing and takes my heart the moment I use them. Although it is expensive, the kind of luxurious feeling it gives, is worth the cost.

I feel things are expensive here because the cost includes a heavy amount of tax, which I guess the shopkeepers have to pay to the government to help them maintain the city in such an artistic and disciplined manner. I am sure the tax collected there is judiciously used in building infrastructures, providing health care facilities, and maintaining various amenities of the city. Overall the experience in the city is just unforgettable and people from developing countries often dream of living in such a place.

I had a long standing dream to visit Switzerland which is supposed to be one of the most picturesque countries in the world. Situated in central Europe with most parts comprising of the Alps, it is dotted with mesmerizing lakes, lush valleys and breathtaking waterfalls. I wanted to experience the scenic beauty of this place as countless Bollywood movies have been shot in Switzerland capturing the beauty of the area.
In what ways was it expensive ?
Although I had a fair idea before embarking on the journey that Switzerland is expensive but I was completely bowled over when I reached there. Swiss transportation is one of the best and every corner of the country is well connected by rail, bus and boats. However, as I approached the ticket counter I was shocked at the cost of the travel cards. A three to five day card cost more than a lakh. Moreover, it was impossible to take meals in Indian or any other decent restaurant as it was much higher than the average cost in any other neighbouring countries. During our stay we mostly cooked all our meals or picnicked on the green valleys with cheese and chocolates.
Would you recommend this place to others?
I would definitely recommend travellers to visit once atleast to experience the incomparable beauty of the place. To soak in the beauty of the gigantic snow-covered Alps and laze in the lush green valleys. Cities like Zurich, Lucerne and Gstaad are modern yet manages to retain the natural beauty. Situated in the foothills of the Alps is Interlaken which is another resort town against a magnificent backdrop of the Alpine region all around. However, one must brace for the expenses one might incur. It would be a good idea to plan in advance to avoid any surprises.

I am a travel enthusiast so I have traveled to many places and countries, whether for business purposes or just for vacation. Recently I visited a European country, Switzerland . It is a beautiful country known for its snow points like Jungfrau. The scenic beauty is just so mesmerizing.
Why did you go there?
I went there as I always had a dream of going to Switzerland. I love winters and snow so I decided to visit this place in winters and it turned out to be magical and serene.
The site seeing, the food, the weather, everything just compliments each other in the right way. The people in Switzerland were very friendly and helpful. A lot of Indians could be seen in and around Switzerland.
Explain why you think things are expensive there?
Swiss passes used for transportation by public transport are costly affairs in Switzerland. The restaurants are also pricey as compared to other countries. I was taken aback when one of the restaurants charged us extra as a fine for two people sharing one dish. We were quite amazed at this. Though, the atmosphere of this place is just amazing, it weighs a little too much on the pocket of travelers like us. All in all, it is a one time experience that one should enjoy in his/ her life.
