I consider myself as a very punctual person. I remember when I was in college and I had a paper presentation one morning, things did not go as I planned. I had prepared for it with all my determination. But one day before the presentation I fell ill. I tried to make sure that I took my medicine on time and slept early.
What happened?
Unfortunately, I did not wake up in time that day due to the strong medicine dose. I had to reach at 9am but I left my home at 9am and reached my college at 9:30 am. The other students were all set with their presentations, whereas I entered in panic. The cherry on the cake was that I was first in line for the presentation that day. Thankfully, the professor came in at 9:45am. I tried to calm myself down. But I felt very anxious.
Why you missed/were late for it? And explain how you felt about this experience?
By God’s grace that day I managed to deliver my presentation nicely with minor fumbling here and there. I started with a little hesitation but as it went on things were in line. I fell sick suddenly due to which I got late. That day I realized the importance of keeping fit and healthy as it can impact important events in our lives.
All in all, I felt quite anxious because of this incident and became all the more careful about my health and fitness.

When did it happen?
One of the most important meetings I had when I was in school was the selection of the school badminton team and unfortunately, I arrived late. It is the worst memory I have of my school days.
What happened? Why you missed/were late for it?
During my school days, I used to travel by my school bus to reach school, we were never late, however, that day we witnessed a major accident that had taken place on the highway crossing just a kilometer from my school, and the entire traffic was stuck because of this reason. That was the day I had seen so much blood on the road and the two crying ladies were like horror to me. I still remember that for days, We all used to pray for their healthy life.
Explain how you felt about this experience.
Despite all that happened on the road, the worst part was that because of being late, I could not participate in the first round of selection and was just marked as a substitute candidate, and would finally get a chance only if anyone from my team would either deny the participation or be dismissed off by the authorities. After working dedicatedly for months, I felt this was the last time of my life and was badly upset, and emotional to a level I had no control but being a sports person I was supposed to show sportsmanship and just wait for the right time.

When was it ?
While there have been several occasions when I have been late but there is one particular day I remember vividly. I was scheduled to join the wedding of my friend from my university days in Kolkata
What happened on that day?
On that particular day I was supposed to catch a train to Kolkata and I was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. The central rail station is quite far from my place so I started in good time. My train was at 4.55 pm and I started from home at around 2 pm. At first we covered more than half of the distance in proper time with ample time to spare. However, as we neared the station and was just about 3 kms away, we were met with an unprecedented traffic jam. At first I thought the traffic lights are not working, however soon it was clear there must be some other reason for the bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Soon my driver and I got down to find out the reason for the jam-packed traffic. That’s when we saw the huge procession ahead. It was a religious congregation celebrating a special day. The procession moved at a very slow pace and it was impossible to bypass them. After a long wait of 45 minutes we managed to move ahead and raced to the station. We only had 5 minutes to reach the designated platform and board the train. We rushed through the crowded station but missed the train by a whisker.
What consequences did you face due to the delay ?
As I missed the train I could not reach on time for the wedding celebrations and only managed to attend the reception the day after. I still regret not being able to attend the wedding of such a close friend despite all efforts.
