Who/what made the noise & What the noise was like?
In our everyday life, we come across a lot of unwanted noises that disturb us. One such incident when I got disturbed was when my neighbours were celebrating their daughter’s birthday on their terrace. They were playing very loud DJ and along with that someone was playing guitar too.
It was 3 am in the morning and the DJ was still on full volume, and the other neighbours also were getting disturbed. Moreover, they started playing party songs with loud noise.
What you did?
I along with other neighbours went to tell them to lower down the volume but to no avail.
They lowered down the volume for half an hour after which they again started playing on full volume. There party finally ended around 4am and then we slept.
And explain how you felt about it?
I was happy for the ones celebrating the birthday party but felt a little annoyed as it disturbed all the neighbours and they had their offices next day. It is good to be happy, but it is not fair on anyone’s part to disturb the other person.
Who/what made noise ?
Noise pollution in today’s time is a reality that we all have to deal with on an everyday basis. With increasing traffic and rapid urbanization, noise from vehicles, construction sites and industries is breaking all permitted decibel levels.
What more it has now started to affect the social arena as well with loud music being played in pubs, restaurants and even in weddings.
What the noise was like ?
Last week I and my colleagues had gone out for an after-work dinner at a popular restaurant. However, we were unaware that it was a special DJ night. We entered the restaurant at about 7pm. At that point the ambience was quiet and soothing. We ordered our drinks and starters and kept chatting among ourselves. We hoped to enjoy a quiet relaxed evening with good food and drinks.
However, at about 8, the DJ started playing. The first numbers played were not too loud, but within an hour the blaring music was ear-splitting. It was impossible to hear each other over the deafening noise.
What you did ?
We had to shout our dinner order to the waiter. We had to use gestures in order to communicate with each other as conversation was no longer possible.
Soon people hit the dance floor and the DJ increased the volume further. At this point, things had become oppressive and we left the restaurant cancelling our dessert order.
And explain how you felt about it ?
The evening was supposed to be a quiet and relaxed one. We were hoping to spend some quality time after a tiring workday, but that was not to be. We had to scramble out of the restaurant. By the time I left the restaurant, I was having a dizzying headache and just wanted to dash out of that place.
Who is the person? & how do you know him/her?
There are different kinds of people in the world. Some are introverts, whereas others are extroverts or ambiverts. People interact as per their convenience. I know one such person who loves to communicate with other people, and share his experiences.
He is my husband’s friend Varun and by profession he is a DJ.
What does he/she mostly talk about?
He loves to talk about his different travelling experiences where he plays techno music with famous artists. He tells us about the crowd and the way they vibe with their playlist. When we listen to him, we realise how this industry is completely different and the behaviour of people is also variable as per the crowd they are in.
Why do you think this person is so talkative?
I feel Varun is talkative because of the work he does. Profession affects a person’s behaviour and lifestyle. Being a DJ, he meets a lot of people and interacts with them weekly, so he has to be outgoing and talkative.
