Parts of Rajasthan is endowed with rich and diverse forest area having a variety of wild animals, including tigers. Ranthambore is one such wildlife sanctuary in Rajasthan where a lot of tigers and leopards are found, especially Bengal Tigers. The park is named after the Ranthambore Fort which was built in the tenth century by the Chauhan dynasty.

Ranthambore, although known primarily as a tiger reserve is home to a large number of mammals, reptiles and birds. Popular wild animals include tigers, leopards, deer, chital and many more alongwith 320 species of birds. Many of the exotic birds inhabit this area including kingfisher, pelicans, painted storks and a variety of owls. It is situated 130 kilometres away from Jaipur in the south-eastern part of Rajasthan. In earlier times, the maharajas of Jaipur used this area as their hunting grounds. It was declared a National park in the year 1980.

Nowadays it is very difficult to encounter some wildlife animals in the jungle or mountains since some of them are extinct but some organizations are very keen in preserving wildlife for our future generations. In my country there are several places where these animals are kept safely from extinction which we call a zoo.
What kinds of animals are found there ?
The oldest zoo in my country is Zoo Negara located on the northeastern outskirts of Kuala Lumpur city center. Zoo Negara has a total of over 5,137 specimens from 476 species of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and fish. The variety of animals can be found which are Malayan tiger, White tiger, iguanas, lizards, snakes, crocodiles, panda, giraffe, and much more interesting wildlife can be found there.

This is the second most popular place after the twin tower where a lot of tourists booked tickets online since walk-in tickets are normally not available since it is the center of attraction for not only kids but adults too. Other than that, the places equipped with attractions such as Sea lions, macaques and macaws are part of a multi-animal show that is shown twice daily. Additionally, train rides and guided tours are available on weekends. The Mini Bee Museum is located at the heart of Zoo Negara and helps educate visitors about the many types of bees in the country. Honey is also available for sale. The Multi-Animal Photo Corner, open on weekends, is located by the zoo’s main entrance. Visitors can have their pictures taken with snakes, miniature horses, and birds.
