Last year, I participated in a writing competition preparation Train the Trainer program conducted by the University of Cambridge at New Delhi.
Why did you take part in it?
I took part in it as I wanted to enhance my skills and gain exposure of all the latest trends going on in the market.
What the activity was?
The activity was to prepare students to develop persuasive skills. We as teachers initially had to prepare a PowerPoint presentation, experiential activities, and finally case studies so that we could showcase the results of these students.
And explain why it made you feel tired.
It was extremely tiring as I had to involve myself completely in the program, it was mentally tiring as I had to think and add all sorts of interactive activities that would attract students and feel motivated about the program, also I had to move from one desk to the other to interact with other fellow people so that collective input from all could be added, in doing all these I met many people who had different attitudes and convincing people becomes a task at times. So by the end of the day, I felt completely tired both mentally and physically.

Last month, I went hiking on a mountain with one of my friends. It was a sunny day and the temperature was around 39 C. We decided on a spot in our city. It is a mountain on the south side of our city.
Why did you take part in it?
I took part in this hike, because I met my friend after one year and we both love to spend time with nature. We decided to do an activity which could give us good time with nature and also a good exercise. And, we decided to go hiking.
What was the activity?
It was a fun activity. It was my first time doing it. And, it gave me a different experience.
And explain why it made you feel tired?
Because of the hot weather, I felt a little tired after I came home. Also, I had the night before the day I did this activity. So, I was unable to get enough sleep and we had to go hiking a little early. But it was a good time with nature. I am looking forward to going hiking again in the future.

I remember a particular year when the annual day festivities were under way at school. I too had volunteered in it. During the annual day functions, parents used to be invited to the school to take a look at all the extra-curricular activities the children had been doing all through the year. I was assigned with the task of putting up all the artwork of the children of all the sections from third to fifth standard.
Why did you take part in it ?
I volunteered to take part in this activity as I could see the older students and teachers struggling to get everything in order before the D-day. So, all my friends from class and I decided to help in whatever way we could.
What was the activity?
Two days before the celebrations began we plunged into the first task of sorting out the best paintings which were to be hung on a separate wall. Next we hung up these huge curtains so that the paintings could be pinned on to it. Since five of us were involved in the task we divided the work and got about it. It was a full year’s work so there were lots of paintings to be hung up. We used ladders and painstakingly pinned the paintings onto those huge long curtains.
Explain why it made you feel tired.
We somehow managed to complete the task in the next two days working all through the day. By the time we were done the hall looked amazing with all those paintings hung up symmetrically. However, we were exhausted at the end of it and felt completely drained.
