Sample Answer :
I live in a joint family and I am very close to my grandparents. My grandmother is a great cook and I am fond of her cooking. She can make all kinds of sweet and savoury dishes but her speciality is jam and pickles. She makes a wide variety of pickles using fruits and vegetables. Over the years, she has experimented a lot and created pickles from vegetables like pumpkins, carrots, zucchini and radishes.
My favourite is the mango pickle. There is a specific cabinet in the kitchen for my grandmother’s pickles
and I have never seen that cabinet empty.
I have been seeing her prepare these pickles since I was very young but last year I started learning the art of pickle making seriously. My grandmother is a patient and loving teacher. Sometimes I ruin her batches of pickles but she is always kind to me. I want to be good at this art and I hope that one day, I will be able make tasty mango pickles like her.
She taught me the lemon pickle first as it is considered to be the easiest. It tasted a little bitter when I first made it but my grandmother taught me to balance the flavors. Eventually, I got better at it and now I am able to make huge jars of delicious lemon pickle. I am currently learning the recipe for my favourite mango pickle but it may take some more time as I am yet to get that perfect taste that is present in my grandmother’s preparation.
I also want my grandmother to open a small pickle making business. I am good at using Instagram and we can sell the pickles using as Instagram page. I am in the process of convincing her for the same but she never takes this seriously. I hope she agrees to my request as I have a lot of ideas and plans for her business.
I want everyone to know about her talent and I already know that it is going to be a huge success as my grandmother’s pickles are best in the world. I will always be grateful to her for teaching me such an exceptional skill. I intend to learn all her cooking techniques and get the recipes published. I have talked to my grandmother about this several times and she always seems excited. I hope this happens soon.
