When and where it happened?

I consider myself to be a responsible person but there are some situations where I forget and lose my stuff. The last time I lost the most valuable item was a month ago when I was travelling by bus from Abbotsford to Vancouver. I lost my handbag on the bus.

What it was?

My handbag had my important stuff like my passport, credit card, and around 250 dollars, and my Describe a time when you lost an important and valuable itemhouse keys.

How important and valuable it was?

This bag was really important to me.

How did you lose it?

It was my first time travelling between these two cities. I was alone and a little nervous because I was not sure about the exact spot where I had to get off the bus. So, I decided to put Google Maps on my mobile phone. Accidentally, I put my handbag on the seat next to me because it was empty, and both of my fingers were busy on the phone. When the bus stopped, I got so excited to get out and totally forgot about my bag. I realized after getting out of the bus. But it was too late to stop it.

Explain how you felt about the experience.

It was one of the most stressful experiences I ever had. I hope it will not happen in the future.

When and where it happened?

I am an extremely finicky person so it hardly ever happens that I misplace something or lose something. However, around four months ago, while organizing and managing a family event, I lost something that would make my mum taunt me for life, I’m sure.

What it was?

It was the only gold ring I owned, which had cost around 40,000 Indian Rupees.

How important and valuable it was?

Considering the cost of it, it was extremely valuable because in my family, we invest in gold and even jewellery quite rarely. The one time I did, I ended up losing it. Moreover, I had bought it just two weeks prior to the function. So, that added to the hurt.

How you lost it?

Honestly, it wasn’t completely my fault because I had given it to my cousin to take care of it while I did a chore. She ended up misplacing it. But since it was mine, and since I could have, in fact should have, kept it in the cupboard safely, I do blame myself mostly.

Explain how you felt about the experience.

I was on a rollercoaster of emotions at that moment. From feeling confused and upset, to feeling nervous and angry; I felt it all. After hearing a lot of valid scoldings from my mum, I realized that when I have something as valuable as a gold ring, I have to be extra cautious, and also ensure I don’t give it to someone else to take care of it.

What was the item and when did you lose it?

On my graduation day, my grandfather had gifted me an exquisite watch. It was a Swiss-made watch with a transparent dial. What made the wristwatch so unique was that the machinery inside was visible due to the clear dial.

Why was the item so precious to you?

I was so fond of the watch that I wore it only on special occasions. Every time I wore the watch my friends complimented me and invariably enquired from where I had bought it. The watch had a black outer dial and a matching snake leather belt which accentuated the overall look of the wrist watch. Moreover, I could accessorize it with all my outfits owing to its neutral colour.

How did you lose it ?

Once I graduated, I managed to secure a job with a reputed company. On my first assignment, I had to travel to Bangalore with the team. We all checked into the same hotel and stayed there for two days. As this was my first assignment I thought I should dress well, and therefore had carried the watch. However, on my return I could not find the watch in my luggage. I immediately called up the hotel, however they could not locate it. I was heartbroken as it was so precious to me. For the next few days I could not get it out of my head and I was depressed.

I had given up all hope of ever finding it but after two weeks my colleague stood at my door with the watch. Possibly it got mixed up with his belongings as we both shared a room during our stay in Bangalore.
